Here you can see the basic outline of what each spot entails as well as what is required when pitching each show. Please Contact Us if any aspects of your ‘pitch’ does not align with the guidelines of a ‘spot’.
1st
Spot
First spot productions may present published plays and unpublished plays. The play pitched must be sent to the secretary in its whole and complete form, with a fully written script before the published production pitching deadline, which can be found on the social media posts.
If someone is wishing to pitch an unpublished piece of work, they must pitch before the unpublished production deadline, which can be found on the respective social media posts.
Your pitch should always be checked in alignment with the Terms Of Reference, but these are some basic elements we recommend for 1st Spot; Your name, your production team, the name of your play, information on the rights of your production (if it applies), the play in its whole and complete form, a basic outline of the play and any set or costume plans that you may have.
1.5
Spot
The 1.5 Spot consists of a maximum of four productions.
The 1.5 Spot shall be open to any style of production, this spot is intended to bring in as many new members to Dramac, and to involve the maximum amount of new members to the performance space. The play pitched must be sent to the secretary in its whole and complete form, with a fully written script before the published production pitching deadline, which can be found on the social media posts. If someone is wishing to pitch an unpublished piece of work, they must pitch before the unpublished production deadline, which can be found on the social media posts.
1.5 Spot productions may not be longer than 30 minutes in average duration.

Open
Spot
The Open Spot production is open to any type of theatrical production. Great for experimentation, a classic, or even student written.

Director's
First
Director’s First is a great opportunity for first time directors.
The Directors first spot shall be open to any first time director such as: first time directing with DRAMAC, first time directing student written work with DRAMAC, first time Directing published work with DRAMAC, and first time Directing outside of a multi-spot such as DRAMAX or 1.5.

Comrev
The Comedy Revue or ‘ComRev’ consists of a number of short sketches, songs and or videos generally of comedic value.
Instead of pitching a script, members pitch to become the role of co-director or co-producer/producer. Your pitch should always be checked in alignment with the Terms Of Reference, but these are some basic elements we recommend for The Comedy Revue; A Comedy Revue pitch must include an outline of the candidate’s potential theme for the show, as well as their abilities to fulfill the roles in the creation of the Comedy Revue, this should be done through detailing of a unique vision such as ideas, sketches, songs, videos or direction of the show. A member must pitch individually for the position they desire, although a member is allowed to mention another member who has the same theme they have and a desire to pitch together, they must not pitch a complete or partially complete production team.
Co-directors and producers of the Comedy Revue shall be voted in at least six weeks before the Comedy Revue audition period is scheduled to commence. The executive shall appoint exactly three directors and at least one producer to produce the Comedy Revue.
Following the appointment of co-directors and producers of the Comedy Revue, those members so appointed will be named as the co-directors and producer/s of the Comedy Revue season, and all normal rules, requirements and other elements of a production shall apply to the Comedy Revue.
People may pitch for both directors and producers in one application, but if successful will only be chosen for one of the roles.
dramax
DRAMAX consists of a maximum of four productions and may only be student-written plays.
DRAMAX productions may be no longer than 45 minutes in average duration.
A DRAMAX pitch does not need to have a finished script, but the working stage of the script must be declared as part of the pitch. A DRAMAX pitch must be sent to the secretary before the production pitching deadline, which can be found on the social media posts.
No DRAMAX pitch may be excluded from pitching based on the working stage of its script, including pitches based on an unwritten script.
If the working state of a script was shown to have been a deliberate misrepresentation to the actual working state of the script, the pitch may be disqualified within 14 days of pitching by the Dramac executives.

4th
Spot
Fourth spot productions may only present published plays

SMALL SPOT
The style of Small Spot shall be open to any style of theatrical production.
The cast of Small Spot shall be limited to no more than 8 actors.
The spirit of Small Spot productions is to encourage those plays whose chance of election in other seasons may be disadvantaged in other seasons by their small casts, but are still artistically beneficial to the purpose of the society.
